This is the voice of a former Eisenhower Republican who presently is witnessing the destruction of the middle class because of today's Republican politics and policies. Today, ideology trumps reality and practicality. The time has come for humans to take back the castles from the corporations. Comments are welcome, by the way.

Job Creator???
Meg Whittman is the CEO of Hewlett-Packard. As such she has a compensation package of around $16.5 million dollars according to various press releases. If she were to receive this compensation in the form of salary, her tax savings as a result of the Bush tax cuts would approximate $742,500. If she “games” the system and instead of receiving a salary, but is paid in options, she could save as much as $3,300,000 in federal income tax and pay no payroll tax as well. How does she show her gratitude for the GOP largess given to “job creators”...by laying of 27,000 people presently employed by Hewlett-Packard. At last check, layoffs are not jobs that have been created by the “job creators”. Layoffs are actually a loss of jobs. The GOP seems unable to discriminate between create and loss in their attempt to protect those they call “job creators” so can anyone tell me why we need to protect “job creators” like Meg Whittman? As the unemployed might say, with friends like Meg Whittman, who needs enemies!
