Martha Sullivan

Who is Martha Sullivan?  According to press releases, Martha Sullivan is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Sensata Technologies.  As President and CEO, she would be considered a “job creator” by Boehner, Cantor, McConnell, Romney, and company.  By the way, Sensata is owned by Bain Capital. Sensata has also been in the news recently for another reason.  It seems that the “job creator” has been busy creating 170 new jobs.  Unfortunately, for the people presently employed by Sensata in Freeport, Illinois, those jobs are not being created in Freeport, or Illinois, or anywhere else in the United States.  The job creator heading up Sensata is creating the jobs in China.  At the same time the job creator of Sensata is busy creating jobs in China, the very same job creator is killing 140 jobs in Freeport, Illinois.  This is the thanks job creators give the American people for lowering their taxes so they will create more jobs.  170 lost jobs is the result of the low tax/less regulation policies promoted by those protecting the “job creators”.  To make maters even worse, Sensata will also receive tax benefits to help offset the costs of moving their operation from Freeport, Illinois, to China.  Of course, Martha Sullivan is far from being alone when it comes to failing to create jobs.  Meg Whitman, another “job creator” recently announced the layoff of 1400 employees at the company she heads.  Bank of America, headed up by another “job creator” was also in the news having also posted lay-off notices for over 30,000 employees in spite of receiving billions in bailout money from taxpayers.  The question that American people need to ask over and over again is, where are the jobs the job creators are creating?  If they are not creating jobs, why are the tax policies protecting their incomes, and even more important, why are Republicans always cutting their taxes?
