John Sununu, when on
FOX said, “He (President Obama) has no idea how the American system functions,
and we shouldn't be surprised about that, because he spent his early years in
Hawaii smoking something, spent the next set of years in Indonesia, and when he
came to the U.S. worked as a community organizer -- which is a socialized
structure -- and then got into politics in Chicago. There has been no
experience in his life in which he's earned a private-sector paycheck that
meant anything." So, let’s look at
how the system functions in Romneyworld and the world of Republican,
supply-side economics. First, in
Romneyworld, the financial sector makes the rules and the public be damned. Also, Romneyworld is a place where corporate
executives are not satisfied with salaries that are 50 times the average
employee but must be 300 times the average employee. In Romneyworld jobs are sent to the country with the lowest wages
rather than remaining in the United States.
Also in Romneyworld, only the top 10% are allowed to experience growth
of wealth. The remaining 90% of
citizens in Romneyworld are supposed to long for the days when they will become
part of the top ten percent and quietly accept their status until such time
comes. In Romneyworld the bottom 90%
admire and respect the top 10% because it is their business acumen that
entitles them to their status in life.
In Romneyworld there is no need for programs like Medicare, Medicaid, or
Social Security because those who will ever have a need for healthcare or
retirement are capable of funding their own program without any meddling on the
part of a government bureaucracy.
Romneyworld is where one political party talks about creating jobs but
never proposes a single piece of job creating legislation and filibusters every
legislative attempt on the part of the other party. Finally, in Romneyworld,
women and minorities know their place and never, never question the authority
or wisdom of those serving the public in elected office. Sununu is right...Obama does not understand
the workings of Romneyworld. Hopefully,
most Americans who have tasted the effects of Romneyworld on their lives will
also fail to appreciate or understand the workings of Romneyworld either.
