This is the voice of a former Eisenhower Republican who presently is witnessing the destruction of the middle class because of today's Republican politics and policies. Today, ideology trumps reality and practicality. The time has come for humans to take back the castles from the corporations. Comments are welcome, by the way.

Do You Ever Want To Win Again
The question Republicans need to answer is whether or not they ever want to win again. In reality, even though George W. Bush was declared the President before Obama won the last two elections, the reality is that more people voted for the candidate other than Bush. Many have surmised that Obama’s win in 2008 was the result of a majority of voters realizing that Republican view of economics did not benefit the majority so the majority voted for change. Since that time, Republicans have continued to try to sell their losing “product” in one way or another and have done everything they could to prevent Democrats from implementing either a centrist or more leftist economic policy. To date, Republicans cannot even state with any authority that the Democrat’s answer to trickle-down will not work because Republicans have down every thing possible to obstruct any Obama policies from every coming into effect. Their entire argument is “our way would have worked better” but the reality is that most voters finally realized that “our way” actually sucked and “our way” was and still is the cause of today’s economic troubles. Republicans need to give the Democrats an opportunity to fail. The only way Republicans can hope to win back the Presidency and control of Congress is if policies implemented by Democrats actually make things worse. Right now, all Republicans have done is stand in the way of giving the Democrats the ropes they hope Democrats will use to hang themselves. Of course, there is the chance that the Democratic policies will actually work and Republicans will find themselves deeper in the desert when it comes to winning back power. But, Republicans forget that, to paraphrase Will Rogers, the only thing Democrats really excel at is fucking up. Somehow, given the chance, Democrats will find some way to screw up even if the economy gets much, much better, people find jobs, wages for the middle class improve, and the deficit is reduced. The quickest way Republicans can win back the seats of power is to give the Democrats what they want. Unfortunately, the Democrats will find some way to fuck up...they always have and they always will. So, my message to Republicans in both the House and Senate is shut the fuck up, let the Democrats enact whatever they wish and enjoy retaking the reins of power much, much sooner.
