Thanks

It is nice to be able to make a positive post for a change.  I recently had to undergo a minor surgical procedure and considering the fact that someone was cutting on my body, I have to say it was a positive experience.  To start, the people at Vanderbilt Hospital was most kind, courteous, and for someone who is not a morning person, beyond expectation when I arrived at 6:00AM for the procedure.  My surgeon, whom I shall call Mike-the-Knife was friendly, informative, and for the first time advised me of worse case possibilities (which, by the way never materialized).  I also have to give a shout out to Mike-the-Nurse who was but one of many who I assume were involved in my procedure.  The last recollection before anything happened was both Mikes coming into the room after I had disrobed and was lying on a bed awaiting things to happen.  The next thing I remember was sneezing and someone telling me it was time to wake up.  A few minutes after that I was dressing and leaving the facility on my way back home.  As mentioned earlier, I arrived at Vanderbilt at 6:00AM and was back home by 12:00 Noon.  While I was not in condition to run a marathon that day or the next, I have yet to take any pain medication.  I do not know if that was because the procedure was minor or because of the skill of Dr. Mike.  I prefer to think the latter as looking at the incision it does not appear very minor from where I sit.  At any rate, I am back from my brief respite on the blog and am glad to return with a positive comment.  As of late, there has not been much in the news that warranted compliments, but compliments are more than deserved by everyone who had anything to do with my adventure.  Thanks to you all.
