Why They Lost

Since the final count for the 2012 Presidential Election was tallied, Republicans have tried to explain why this was another election lost by Republican candidates.  There was much blamed as well as many candidates blamed, but no one could point to the reasons better than upcoming CPAC event and the speakers list for this event.  The head of this organization, when asked why Chris Christy, Governor of New Jersey, was not invited to this Conservative/Republican soiree explained the invitees are those “who have had an incredible year”.  So who will speak at CPAC 2013:
  • Sarah Palin...lost her VP bid in 2008 and lost her FOX news job in 2012.
  • Paul Ryan...lost his election for VP in 2012 and has yet to get a single bill enacted into law.
  • Mitt Romney...lost the 2012 Presidential election and the Mass Senate election before that.
  • Allen West...one of the few incumbent members of Congress who lost re-election.
Perhaps that is the problem the Twenty-first Century Republican Party faces.  In order to “have an incredible year” only losers qualify.  When Republican primary voters send losers to run against non-losers how can they expect anything other than more losing.
