Donald Trump ran his presidential campaign under the slogan, “make America great” and has modified that for his re-election campaign to “make America great, again”. But most people would not say that America is very great today. There are fewer people working than before Trump took office. Rarely are more than one-third of pupils attending schools. Hunger and poverty have increased. And, Official records show 227,000 people are dead because of covid-19 and the Trump Administration inept handling of this crisis. Caseloads and hospitalizations are surging for the third time and the country is recording over 80,000 new cases of covid-19 a day. Then there’s the “swamp” Trump promised to drain. However, rather than draining the swamp as promised Trump managed to double the size by having more of his appointees in jail, facing jail sentences, or accepting pardons for convictions while serving Trump appointments. This of course does not mention the corruption that lies at the feet of Trump and his family with millions of taxpayer dollars going to pay for $600 a night rooms at Trump owned resorts and as much as $3.00 for a glass of water. His Washington Hotel on property leased from the GSA. a violation in and of itself, has served as a cash register for those who want to find a way to get in front of Trump to plead for their share of government largess. While there are a lot of voters who manage to overlook his economic scoundrelly or his personal peccadilloes no one can really honestly same the country is in better shape today than it was on January 19, 2017. Trump has made America greater for Trump, his family, and the top 10% of Americans but for those who get paid by the hour or whose entire earnongs are reported on Form W2, his presidency sucks. The best way to make America great again is to use the phrase Trump made famous in his TV Show, The Apprentice, YOU’RE FIRED!
