Why?

Why should anyone care what Ted Cruz or Kevin McCarthy says?  Both of these members of Congress violated their oaths of office and advocated the overthrow of an election.  Cruze said Biden cares more about Paris than Pittsburgh.  McCarthy offered the opinion that the Executive Orders that focused on getting vaccines to the people who needed to be immunized against Covid-19 was divisive.  Who really gives a shit what these two traitors to the Constitution think or say?  The fact of the matter is Republicans are going to criticize everything that comes from the Oval Office because that.   is all they are capable of doing.  If America learns a single thing from the past four years it is the sad fact that Republicans are not capable of governing.  It is not just Trump but it is a Republican Congress, House and Senate, that can only cut taxes and increase military spending.  Governing is far more than that.  Governing is effectively dealing with crises (not creating them) and governing is listening to the people and making laws that are of and for the people.  That is a concept that has been foreign to Republicans in Congress since the inauguration of Ronald Reagan.  The majority of Americans have shown they believe that.  Over the past eight elections in only one has there been a Republican majority of votes cast.  In the other seven the majority of votes were for Democrats.  Republicans have been rigging elections by gerrymandering and suppressing votes for years and have been able toget away with doing this.  At the same time as rigging elections Republicans ha campaigned by propagandizing and promoting lies and misinformation to the point the gullible voters are willing to vote against their own self interests.  Today we are witness to the very basis of good government.  Today, in news conferences America was able to witness the truth.  We were able to witness science trumping myth.  Whether Democrats will have the courage to continue to provide good government remains to be seen.  Good government will not be possible as long as Republicans in the Senate can filibuster and block the legislation necessary for good government.  There was a time where the thinking said there is a need for compromise and a need for the minority support legislative activity.  But Republicans have proven that thinking wrong.  Republicans are incapable of minority support because Republicans only recognize and support tax cuts and increased military spending.  Republicans do not know how to turn a recession into a recovery but are very good at creating recessions.  Republicans to not know how to reverse a crisis but are experts in making a crisis worse.  Republicans have no idea how to deal with unemployment or the unemployed.  Giving Republicans an opportunity to have any say in legislation necessary to reverse a recession, reverse unemployment, or get the country out of a crisis is a guarantee to make things worse.  If the last four years have not convinced Democrats of Republican incompetence nothing will and they will still try to “level the playing field” oblivious to the reality that the playing field favors Republicans even when in the minority.  Democrats need to grow balls eliminate the filibuster, and enact legislation that will result in good government that is by the people, of the people, and for the people.  Whether or not they can do this remains to be seen.  But, one thing should be certain by now, Democrats should not care what Cruz and McCarthy thinks or say and definitely not give them any opportunity to have input into legislation.
