This is not about Keno or the lottery. This is about the numbers game of politics. That is a very simple game where the politician who can convince more eligible voters to vote in his or her favor that politician wins. In other words, who ever gets the most votes wins. That being the case, what’s with the Republican political loyalty to Donald Trump? Don’t these people want to win their next election? Why would any politician want to attract the Trump voter base? Don’t they realize the Trump voter base will never have enough votes to win elections? Granted, Trump received 75 million popular votes in the 2020 election but also granted is he lost the popular vote by 10 million. Another fact of the numbers game is the “Trump base” constitutes, at best, only 40 or so million voters, far too few to win an election for National office. Furthermore, since Trump’s denial of foreign interference in U.S. Elections Republican voter registrations have begun to grow in reverse. In other words, the Republican Party is losing members...and the Trump base becomes even less important as it declines on a daily basis. Of course, Trump does not want to let on that he has become a political liability just as he hasn’t admitted he failed to be reelected President. One would like to hope that anyone running for political office was smart enough to run away from losing positions but considering Republicans did nominate and elect Trump along with Cruz, Hawley, Gohmert, and even Bachman at one time there’s little hope for Republican intelligence.
