Anyone But Newt?

Has anyone reading this post witnessed a Gingrich campaign when he was seeking election in Georgia? If so, it is possible that Newt ran some of the dirtiest campaigns in history. Newt made “Willy Horton” and “Swift Boats” look positive. While it is somehow fitting that Newt is now the target of political barbs hurled at him rather than by him, how he has chosen to handle his situation is interesting. For one thing, Newt has decided that “going after” someone’s record is no longer negative (unless some one is going after Newt’s record). Replaying quotes from the past that casts a candidate in bad light is a no, no (unless it is casting an opponent of Newt in a bad light). It is interesting to see who has endorsed Newt. It is more interesting to see who has not and will not endorse Newt. Here is a man who was Speaker of the House of Representatives without a single endorsement from people who served with him in Congress. One, Tom Colburn, a member of his own party has publicly said he would vote for Obama before Newt. By the way, his step-sister also admitted her preference to Obama over Newt. The talking heads at FOX are bad-mouthing Newt. Even Rush appears to be opposed to Newt. Newt, your foot is too big for your mouth but you somehow manage to insert it regardless. Where you have your head is another anatomical achievement.
