Government Can’t Create Jobs????

The right, in particular Rush and Fox are constantly proclaiming that the government can’t create jobs. This cry is echoed by Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and company. Well people, this may come as a surprise but first, to Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and company what do you call what you do? You are all government employees working at jobs created by the government, receiving salaries and other compensation that are paid by taxpayer dollars and will receive retirement and medical care from government programs. To all of the other naysayers, have you ever driven on an interstate highway? If so, you drove on roads that were the result of jobs created by government. The federal, state, and local government bought the land, hired the contractors, paid for the material used in the construction, and in doing so, created millions of jobs for people who worked for the various contractors who were responsible for the construction of the roads. Who do you think buys the vehicles that were sent to Iraq, blown up by roadside bombs, and replaced by new vehicles to be sent to Iraq. These vehicles may have been built by private industry but only because they were ordered by the government. Where is the origin of smart bombs, drones, F16s and other war toys? Who teaches your kids, polices your streets, picks up your garbage, or puts out fires if not people in jobs created by federal, state, or local government. Of course while not directly employed by government, there are the owners of the food truck that shows up at road construction sites or the waitress at the restaurant next to the federal office building that brings lunch to the government employees; all dependent upon the government for their jobs. It is estimated that over ninety-six cents of every tax dollar spent pays someone a salary or for health benefits for the work in behalf of government or pensions and health benefits for work done in the past. If you hear government cannot create jobs what you are hearing is the voice of ignorance. If that voice is coming from someone already on the government payroll or elected to a governmental political office, you are hearing the voice of incompetence. Keep this thought in mind...if they are presently in office, you asked an incompetent or ignorant to represent your interests and if they are asking for your vote you will give that vote to an ignorant or incompetent. Can an ignorant or incompetent best represent your interests? It is your only vote in this election and I would like to think you might use it wisely.
