This is the voice of a former Eisenhower Republican who presently is witnessing the destruction of the middle class because of today's Republican politics and policies. Today, ideology trumps reality and practicality. The time has come for humans to take back the castles from the corporations. Comments are welcome, by the way.

According to Sherlock
In the words of Sherlock Holmes, It is a big mistake to theorize before one has data – because one begins to twist facts to suit theories instead of finding theories to suit facts. The theory is that Republican governance is based upon fiscal responsibility. Republicans have always promised balanced budgets. That, at least is their theory of government, but look at these facts:
·President Ronald Reagan is the first President to increase the National Debt by more than $100 Billion in one year!
·President Ronald Reagan is the first President to increase the National Debt by more than $200 Billion in one year!
·President George H.W. Bush is the first President to increase the National Debt by more than $300 Billion in one year!
·President George H.W. Bush is the first President to increase the National Debt by more than $400 Billion in one year!
·President George W. Bush is the first President to increase the National Debt by more than $500 Billion in one year!
·President George W. Bush has increased the National Debt by more than $500 Billion AGAIN! Almost hits $600 Billion!
·President George W. Bush has increased the National Debt by more than $500 Billion a THIRD time!
·President George W. Bush has increased the National Debt by more than $500 Billion a FOURTH time!
·President George W. Bush has increased the National Debt by more than $500 Billion a FIFTH time!
President George W. Bush is the first President to increase the National Debt by more than $1 TRILLION in one year! And that was before he spent ONE PENNY of his $700 BILLION Wall Street Bailout!
Can anyone point to a single example of fiscal responsibility on the part of recent Republican administrations? Other than talking the talk, is there a single example of Republicans walking the walk...doing what the preach they will do? Then you have the party of “less government”. The party of get government off of the backs of the people. The party of the less intrusive government exemplified by Virginia’s state rape law mandating insertion of a probe into a woman’s vagina without her permission (and requiring that woman to pay the costs!). This is less intrusive government? Like in Arizona requiring doctors to actually lie to patients telling women tha abortion increases risk of breast cancer... This is getting government off the backs of people? Where is a moderate Republican who has the stones to stand up and say that the present day hypocrisy is killing the Republican Party. The Republican party is no longer a party that has conservative leanings. The Republican Party of Santorum and Romney (depending upon his audience) is too conservative for even Barry Goldwater.
