For the past three
years, Republicans have said their focus is only on creating jobs. While they may talk about job creation, can
anyone name a single piece of Republican crafted legislation that created a
single job? How many jobs will the hearings involving the Attorney General
create? Will a contempt vote create a
single job? Can anyone point to a single
piece of job creating legislation crafted by the House Republicans since they
won control of the House in 2010? Whether the focus is on Republicans in the US Congress or
Republicans ion state and local government, legislation by the right has not
only failed to create a job, but has actually resulted in the loss of over
800,000 jobs over the past three years.
Listening to Romney, one gets the impression that he does not consider
teachers, police, or firefighters ever had jobs and he seems to approve when
state and local government lay off teachers, police, or firefighters. Perhaps in the world of venture capitalists,
teachers, police, and firefighters are not gainfully employed. Fortunately, the majority of Americans do
not live in the world of venture capitalists and come November, it will be
Romney who is still unemployed.
