Duped?

The TEA Party movement, while successfully bring attention of the country to government’s failings, completely missed the boat.  While there was a ground swell of citizen involvement, that movement has been co-opted by people like Koch Brothers, Dick Armey, and other “professional” conservatives who profit most by “low tax/small government/less regulation” philosophies.  From all observations, very few people attending TEA Party rallies would have an AGI over $250,000.  Most would appear to be recipients of Social Security and Medicare.  From the looks of those at the rallies, very few of the active participants appear to have the necessary income to even pay federal income tax.  Furthermore, most of the funding for TEA Party rallies and other events appear to come from organizations funded by Koch and other right wing ideologists who stand to profit from the low-tax/less government movement.  From all appearances, the TEA Party members appear to be perfect examples of the P T Barnum theory about suckers.  They are being duped and used and will personally derive little or no benefit from their actions.
