Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, running for re-election
has a commercial running on TV where he says. “I’m working hard to change the
way we do business in Washington.”
Where is it written that “hard work” consists of supporting every
Republican filibuster including legislation that would help Tennesseans out of
work find jobs. Since when is “hard
work” voting in step with Senator McConnell on every issue whether beneficial
to Tennesseans or not. “Hard work” is
actually changing the way business is done in Washington rather than focusing
on defeating a sitting President.
Business in Washington used to be doing what is best for the country
rather than what is best for the goal of the Senate Minority Leader. Senator Corker, when are you going to
actually do what is best for Tennesseans?
This is the voice of a former Eisenhower Republican who presently is witnessing the destruction of the middle class because of today's Republican politics and policies. Today, ideology trumps reality and practicality. The time has come for humans to take back the castles from the corporations. Comments are welcome, by the way.
