If At Fourth

It has been written that one sign of insanity is repeating an activity time and time again with the expectation of different results.  Apparently no one told Paul Ryan that his “new” budget plan might be a sign of insanity.  At the very least, it signifies political insanity.  The Republicans made many parts of the Ryan budget part of their 2012 election platform.  They must have very short memories seeing as how that platform actually lost.  Putting this another way where they might better understand, more people voted against Republicans and their fiscal policies than voted for policies like those in the “new” Ryan budget plan. The Republican party is starting to look like a football team in the red zone that keeps running the same off-tackle play that fails to advance the ball.  Time and time again Ryan calls for repealing Obama care and turning Medicare into a voucher scheme and time and time again the American people say no way.  If passed by the House, this will make the fourth time Republicans in the House produce legislation that will never pass the Senate.  In football one hast to punt or attempt a field goal after three unsuccessful tries.  This points to a need for a “fourth down” turnover on the part of House leadership.  How many failures can the country afford.  If at fourth you don’t succeed, quit trying and trying again, try something different that is likely to work, based upon what the American people want not what Peter Peterson and the Koch Brothers want.
