While America was celebrating the election victory of Joe Biden America seemed to lose sight of the extent to which Republicans beat the Democrats where it counts. Joe Biden, the Democratic received 75 million votes, 5 million more than Donald Trump, the incumbent President. However the reality is locally, where the rubber meets the road, in a manner of speaking, Democrats got their asses kicked. Democrats actually lost seats in the House of Representatives. Yes, they retained control of the House, but in a election where so much depends on the support of Congress, the failure to gain a single seat in the House shows a real weakness in the Democratic Party. This weakness is amplified by looking at the results of the Senate vote. While the Senate election is not yet over and the final results await a January runoff election the results so far are almost opposite of the results of the presidential vote. Republicans running for Senate received 38.3 million votes across the nation. On the other hand, Democrats running for a Senate seat only got 36.3 million votes...1.9 million fewer votes. The reality is the January runoff will be won by one or two Republicans, both of whom are running for re-election while the opposing democrats have never held state-wide elective office. There is no reason for Democrats to celebrate THEY LOST!
