How Dare They?

The nerve of Democrats!  How dare they pass measures that a majority of people want.  Imagine a government that actually enacts legislation that helps people in need.  After all, didn’t Ronald Reagan warn America about a government that claims to help people?  The nerve of Joe Biden and the Democrats in both the Senate and the House to ignore the warnings of Reagan and actually pass useful legislation at a time of need.  Don’t Democrats realize that government is not supposed to do things like this?  According to McConnell and other elected Republican Senators and Representatives government is supposed to prevent measures like the American Rescue Plan that would help lift up an economy stunned by the coronavirus pandemic.  The American Rescue Plan has benefits for low- and middle-class workers and puts working people in this nation first.  Don’t Americans realize that it is the wealthy and corporations that make the country work.  Not only does ths American Rescue Plan fail to give the wealthy or corporations more massive tax cuts not a dime from this Democratic legislation purchases even a single bullet let alone spends tax dollars on the military.  It is no wonder Republicans like McConnell and McCarthy are up in arms.  Republicans know better.  Legislation like this would never come from a Republican controlled House or Senate and it is incumbent that Republicans focus on taking back majorities in both the House and the Senate in 2022.  Failure to do so will result in the Democrats enacting even more needed legislation such as immigration reform.  Democrats will even go so far as to enact legislation that prevents Republicans from suppressing fraudulent votes, restricting hours polls are open, or even enacting even more useless laws like photo ID.  How can the country ever accept the results of an election if Democrats continue to do what the people want and expect from government.  The country should be grateful for the filibuster and other legislative actions that will prevent such necessary changes from ever becoming law.  If Republicans are not vigilant the Democrats may even go so far as to address climate change or the failing infrastructure.  Just imagine how many electrical linemen will be out of a job if Democrats manage to prevent events like the problem with the Texas electric grid in the future.  What kind of country would we have if coal companies were prevented from filling streams with mine tailings?  The sales of water pollution prevention products would tank!  Democrats have not been in legislative majorities for three full months and look at what they have done.  How Dare they enact popular legislation?  How dare they?
