Republican Representative Jim Jordan from Ohio opined Donald Trump is the future of the Republican Party. Should that actually be the case that will guarantee Republicans will never win national elections. Keep in mind that Bush 41, Bush 43, and Donald Trump all lost the popular vote. Bush 43 and Trump were elected President only because of the Electoral College which, at present, fails to take into consideration the will of the people and the popular vote. The Republican Party has failed miserably when it comes to answering to the needs of Americans. Focusing only on tax cuts for the wealthy and tax cuts for corporations Republicans have virtually ignored the average worker. Although claiming concern vocally, Republican legislative agenda has been the exact opposite of Republican words. Republican legislative agenda is focused only on tax cuts, increased military spending, and obstruction of everything else, and at no time as a Congress with Republican majorities offered legislation that addresses problems such as the need for immigration reform, eliminating income inequality, improving healthcare insurance, lowering prescription drug costs, failing infrastructure, or the effect of deregulation on the lives of Americans. More and more Republican voters are beginning to realize the extent to which they have been taken in by the words of Donald Trump and across the country, voter registration for Republicans continues to decline. While the Republican politicians court the so-called Trump base they are apparently oblivious to the reality that they are chasing a shrinking minority. Until Republicans realize they are backing a loser the party will fail to field competent candidates for office who understand the difference between good and bad government. As long as Trump remains the face of the Republican Party, Kansas and Texas will be the posters of Republican governance.
