The US Congress
voted Thursday to hold US Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress
for refusing to turn over some of the documents requested by Representative
Darrell Issa. Anyone reading the
Fortune Magazine article about the ATF, Fast and Furious event would find that
it is Representative Issa who should be found to be in contempt. According to the article (http://features.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2012/06/27/fast-and-furious-truth/)
nothing that came out in Chairman Issa’s hearings was designed to shed light on
what truly happened and many people with knowledge of the actual event were not
allowed to testify before the Congressional committee. Those facts notwithstanding, it is the US
Congress that should be held in contempt of the American People. Since the 2010 elections, this Congress has
accomplished absolutely nothing that would serve to benefit the citizens of
this country. The entire focus of this
Congress was to attempt to block any legislation that would, by benefiting
citizens, make the Presidency of Barack Obama appear successful. Members of this Congress campaigned on the
creation of jobs and there has yet to be a single piece of legislation brought
to a vote that would create a single job.
While the Congress voted to hold Attorney General Holder in contempt it
is the Congress that should be held in contempt by the American People.
